I contacted Jason to do a roof inspection on a property I'm buying. He was quick to respond, very polite and did a great job explaining his inspection findings. Will definitely book him for repairs once our purchase has completed

We are so happy with the work Jason has done for us. He gave us a couple of different quotes so we had options, and was honest with us about what we did/didn’t need to do at this point, and was helpful in advising us on things, for example getting a dry ridge system fitted. Communication was great throughout and scaffolding and waste removal was included and well organised. They were tidy and respectful whilst working at our home and always had time to answer questions we had.

Was well worth waiting for Jason to carry out some small roofing repairs. Arrived on the agreed date and told me his plans and kept me updated throughout. Appears to have carried out the work to a very high standard. He's very thorough and identified some areas of concern and remedied them without any extra charge. He tidied up afterwards and sent us photos of the work done. We're very pleased he did the work for us.

guttering

Guttering

Replacement guttering can be supplied in uPVC or aluminium, with half-round, square-line and deep-flow options available.

A new system can include outlets and downpipes, while old concrete or Finlock gutters can also be replaced.

Repairs remain an option for otherwise serviceable guttering, including leaking joints, failed brackets, cracked lengths and damaged downpipes.

fascias

Fascias

Old fascias can be replaced with new timber or uPVC boards, either on their own or alongside other roofline work.

Bargeboards and box ends can also be renewed where required. uPVC suits homeowners looking to reduce painting, while timber can preserve an existing finish.

Local repairs are available where damage has not spread across the full fascia.

soffits

Soffits

New timber or uPVC soffits can replace tired, damaged or unwanted existing boards, with ventilation built into the new roof edge where required.

Bird guards and nearby eaves work can also be included when suitable. Full replacement is not always necessary.

Isolated damage can often be repaired locally through soffit repairs while sound sections remain in place.

You May Not Need To Replace Everything

One failed part does not mean your whole roofline has failed.

We offer free, no-obligation surveys to establish:

  • Whether the fault is confined to one area
  • Whether nearby fascia or soffits are affected
  • What may be repairable
  • Whether replacement makes more sense

A leaking joint may only need a local repair.

A gutter pulling away could need new brackets. If those brackets are fixed into rotten timber, the fascia behind them also needs attention.

The visible problem tells you where to start looking. It does not always tell you how far the work needs to go.

water-running-down-the-wall-will-keep-coming-back

Water Running Down The Wall Will Keep Coming Back

A drip at one joint can seem minor.

The problem is where the water goes next.

Signs your guttering needs attention include:

  • Leaking joints
  • Cracked or sagging guttering
  • Loose brackets
  • Gutters pulling away
  • Water escaping behind the gutter
  • Damaged downpipes

Every spell of rain can send water back onto the same fascia, wall or roof edge. A loose section can also keep moving.

Our gutter repairs in Walthamstow include replacement joints, brackets and damaged sections. Downpipes can also be installed, repaired or replaced.

If several parts of an ageing system have failed, gutter replacement may make more sense than a repair.

Why Is The Gutter Pulling Away?

Sometimes the gutter is not the main problem.

A gutter bracket needs a solid fixing point. If the fascia behind it has started to rot, another screw won’t fix weak timber.

Fascia work includes:

  • Local repairs where suitable
  • Timber fascia repair or replacement
  • Full fascia replacement
  • New uPVC fascia boards
  • Bargeboards and box ends

We can deal with a damaged section on its own where the surrounding fascia remains sound. Wider deterioration may make replacement the better choice.

uPVC fascia boards resist rot and do not need regular painting. Timber remains an option if you want to retain a timber roofline, which suits various character properties in Walthamstow.

what-is-behind-the-broken-soffit

What Is Behind The Broken Soffit?

Old and damaged soffits not only look untidy they can leave the underside of your roofline exposed and may affect ventilation around the eaves.

Soffit work includes:

  • Soffit repair and replacement
  • uPVC or timber soffits
  • Soffit ventilation
  • Bird guards
  • Eaves protection
  • Cladding or dry verge work where needed

We fit new soffits with ventilation in mind. We ensure the eaves prevent birds from accessing the roof space.

New soffits enhance the look of your home and help prevent condensation, rot and heat loss.

If You Need New Guttering, We’ll explain the options

You do not need to become an expert in gutter profiles before asking for a quote. We’ll explain the best types for your property.

We install all types of guttering, which includes:

  • uPVC guttering
  • Aluminium guttering
  • Half-round guttering
  • Square-line guttering
  • Deep-flow guttering
  • Concrete guttering
  • Finlock guttering
  • Gutter guards

We will assess your existing roof edge, outlets, and downpipes before recommending the best options for your home.

when-does-a-complete-roofline-make-sense

When Does A Complete Roofline Replacement Make Sense?

One isolated repair is one thing.

Guttering, fascias and soffits, which are all deteriorating, is a different decision.

A complete roofline job can include:

  • New guttering and downpipes
  • Fascia and soffit replacement
  • Bargeboards and box ends
  • Eaves protection and ventilation
  • Bird or gutter guards
  • Removal and disposal of old materials
  • Scaffolding where required

When several connected parts need replacement, doing the work together avoids returning to the same roof edge for another major job.

Ross Roofing also provides drone roof surveys when a problem appears to extend beyond the roofline and the wider roof needs checking.

Know What Needs Doing Before You Agree To The Work

You can’t diagnose your roofline from the pavement. We’ll get up close to your roofline level and thoroughly inspect your guttering, fascias and soffits.

A survey and quote can set out:

  • What fault has been found
  • Whether the problem is confined to one area
  • What work is proposed
  • Whether scaffolding is needed
  • Whether connected roofline work is involved
  • What the work will cost

Ross Roofing has:

  • More than 20 years of roofing experience
  • City & Guilds qualifications
  • Which? Trusted Trader status
  • Public liability insurance
  • Free guttering, soffit and fascia surveys and quotes
