I contacted Jason to do a roof inspection on a property I'm buying. He was quick to respond, very polite and did a great job explaining his inspection findings. Will definitely book him for repairs once our purchase has completed

We are so happy with the work Jason has done for us. He gave us a couple of different quotes so we had options, and was honest with us about what we did/didn’t need to do at this point, and was helpful in advising us on things, for example getting a dry ridge system fitted. Communication was great throughout and scaffolding and waste removal was included and well organised. They were tidy and respectful whilst working at our home and always had time to answer questions we had.

Was well worth waiting for Jason to carry out some small roofing repairs. Arrived on the agreed date and told me his plans and kept me updated throughout. Appears to have carried out the work to a very high standard. He's very thorough and identified some areas of concern and remedied them without any extra charge. He tidied up afterwards and sent us photos of the work done. We're very pleased he did the work for us.

guttering

Guttering

New guttering systems are available in uPVC and aluminium, including half-round, square-line and deep-flow profiles.

Full replacement can also cover outlets, downpipes and old concrete or Finlock gutters.

Where most of the existing guttering can remain, repairs include new joints, brackets, and outlets, and the replacement of damaged sections and downpipes, rather than renewing the whole system.

fascias

Fascias

Fascia replacement can cover individual roof edges or a complete run, using either timber or uPVC boards.

Bargeboards and box ends can be renewed at the same time where needed. Existing boards do not always need removing.

Local timber repairs can deal with smaller damaged areas where the remaining fascia still provides a sound roof-edge finish.

soffits

Soffits

A complete soffit replacement can provide new uPVC or timber boards along the underside of the roof edge, with ventilation and bird guards added where suitable.

Soffits can also be renewed alongside fascias and guttering during wider roofline work.

If wear or damage affects only one section, a local repair or partial replacement may be sufficient.

Got Roofline Issues?

From the ground, one symptom can point to several faults.

You may see:

  • Water running down the wall
  • A gutter joint dripping in the rain
  • Guttering sagging or pulling away
  • A loose or split downpipe
  • Timber fascia peeling or deteriorating
  • A soffit which has cracked or moved

Has one joint failed? Has water reached the fascia behind it? Are loose brackets fixed into timber which has started to break down?

Those are different jobs.

During your free survey, we’ll check the visible fault and the surrounding roof edge. The survey determines the condition of your guttering, fascias and soffits. We can then discuss the best next step.

where-is-the-water-going-after-it-leaves-gutter

Where Is The Water Going After It Leaves The Gutter?

A failed joint may only need a repair.

Gutter repairs in Dagenham include:

  • Leaking gutter repairs
  • Replacement joints, outlets and brackets
  • Repairs to damaged gutter sections
  • Downpipe installation, repair or replacement
  • New guttering installation

Water which keeps reaching a fascia or wall will soak that area wet each time it rains. Water escaping behind the gutter may also reach the roof edge rather than the downpipe.

A damaged downpipe can send water back onto the wall below. Loose guttering can move further away if fixing points are weak, which can lead to more issues.

If several sections are cracked, loose, or failing, a full gutter replacement may make more sense. Ross Roofing replaces all types of guttering, including concrete and Finlock guttering.

If The Gutter Is Pulling Away, We’ll Check The Fascia

A new bracket won’t help if the Facia behind it cannot hold the fixing.

Fascia work includes:

  • Local fascia repairs where suitable
  • New fascia installation and full replacement
  • Timber fascia repair or replacement
  • New uPVC fascia boards
  • Bargeboards and box ends

From the ground, you cannot see how much fascia behind the gutter is damaged, which is why we’ll get up there and take a proper look during the survey. We can then determine if a repair is possible.

Where Fascia replacement is needed, uPVC resists rot and does not need painting. Timber is available where it suits the existing roofline.

new-soffits-which-let-your-roof-breathe

New Soffits Which Let Your Roof Breathe

Soffits close the underside of the roof edge. Some rooflines also use the soffit area for ventilation.

Soffit and eaves work includes:

  • Soffit repairs
  • New soffit installation and replacement
  • uPVC soffits and soffit ventilation
  • Timber soffits
  • Bird guards
  • Eaves protection and underlay trays
  • Cladding or dry verge work where required

New boards should not cover vents which already help air move through the roof space.

Gaps around the eaves may also allow birds into the roof edge. Those areas can be dealt with when the soffits and surrounding eaves are repaired.

Choose New Guttering After The Existing Setup Has Been Checked

You do not need to know which gutter material or profile you need before the survey.

Available options include:

  • uPVC or aluminium guttering
  • Half-round or square-line profiles
  • Deep-flow or high-capacity guttering
  • New or replacement downpipes
  • Gutter guards

The choice depends on the roof edge, outlets, downpipe positions and drainage arrangement.

We may consider deep-flow guttering where you need greater capacity. Another property may not need it.

when-several-parts-need-work-plan-them-as-one-job

When Several Parts Need Work, Plan Them As One Job

If guttering, fascias, and soffits all need attention, doing the connected work together will avoid turning one roof edge into several separate jobs.

A complete roofline replacement in Dagenham may include:

  • New guttering and downpipes
  • Fascia and soffit replacement
  • Bargeboards and box ends
  • Ventilation and eaves protection
  • Bird guards or gutter guards
  • Scaffolding where access requires it

Old materials can be removed and disposed of as part of the work.

If concern extends beyond the roofline, Ross Roofing also provides paid drone roof surveys to inspect the whole roof and survey its condition.
